Job summary

INEOS Grangemouth invites applications for Mechanical Engineering Graduate 2027. Based in Grangemouth, you will join a team of experienced engineers and rotate through asset operations, gaining exposure to SHE, production and energy initiatives from day one.

The role supports your development toward IMechE Chartership, with a focus on technical growth, business understanding, and leadership potential in a global industry leader.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ambition and personal motivation.
• Ability to work under pressure, with confidence.
• A drive for action, initiative and delivery, a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A valid UK driving licence or currently working towards achieving this.
• Placement or Industry experience is advantageous.

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Grangemouth HQ, Scotland

Salary: Starting salary of £38,000

Start Date: 1st September 2027

About Our Opportunity

Based in Grangemouth our graduates work in a variety of different roles designed to give a diverse set of early experiences. Each role supports different aspects of asset operation (including SHE, production, reliability and energy use/variable cost improvements) to deliver the short through long term asset strategy. You will be embedded within a team of experienced mechanical engineers and given responsibilities from Day 1 designed to facilitate development and growth of technical ability, personal impact and business awareness through to IMechE Chartership. You will immediately develop key skills and experiences required for a successful career in your discipline.

About You

We are seeking the top Mechanical Engineering graduates who have the following skills and qualifications:

• A minimum of 2:1 Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (either completed or in your final Masters year)
• Ambition and personal motivation
• The ability to work under pressure, with confidence
• A drive for action, initiative and delivery, a ‘can do’ attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• A valid UK driving licence or currently working towards achieving this
• Placement or Industry experience is advantageous

APPLICATION PROCESS

Assessment Centre

A limited number of successful applicants will be invited to our in-person assessment day containing a group exercise, followed by two interviews: one behavioural and one technical. You will then break for lunch and if you were successful in passing the morning sessions you will deliver a short presentation to our Operations Director.

Provisional Offer

If you are selected as a successful candidate you will receive a provisional offer which will be subject to a medical assessment and reference checks.
