Job summary

SkyBlue Solutions is seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to inspect, maintain, and repair a range of heavy plant machinery at Sizewell. The role supports production and site efficiency with strong diagnostic and hands-on skills, working independently or in a maintenance team.

Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Fitter and CSCS/JIB, plus hydraulic/pneumatic system experience. Lodge accommodation is available for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Ideally 5 years heavy plant maintenance experience.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work under pressure on critical plant.
• Fabrication, system amendments, and mechanical improvements.
• Experience on similar large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of heavy plant machinery.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Preventive maintenance and inspection documentation.
• Breakdown response with efficient fault‑finding and repair.
• Welding and basic fabrication when required.
• Maintain full HSE compliance and accurate records.
• Coordinate with delivery teams and plant operations.

Mechanical Plant Fitter (Batching Plant & Jetty)

Location: Sizewell, IP16

Duration: 2+ years

Pay Rate: £24.14 per hour

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Plant / Mechanical Plant Fitter to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy plant machinery (Such as Batching Plant & Jetty). The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic ability, hands‑on technical experience, and confidence working independently or within a maintenance team. This role ensures plant equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational to support production and site efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of heavy plant machinery.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Preventive maintenance and completion of inspection documentation.
• Breakdown response with efficient fault‑finding and repair.
• Welding and basic fabrication when required.
• Maintain full HSE compliance and accurate records.
• Coordinate with delivery teams and plant operations.
