Job summary

Wallace Hind Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our engineering team in Saffron Walden. You will service, maintain and repair a wide range of heavy plant and recycling equipment, keeping our fleet safe and productive.

Key duties include planned servicing, diagnosing faults, responding to breakdowns, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. A full UK driving licence and experience with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or Heavy Plant Engineer.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Good knowledge of diesel engines and heavy plant equipment.
• Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• Welding or fabrication experience.
• Experience within recycling, quarrying, waste management or construction.
• Hydraulic hose repair experience.
• Plant operating licences.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
