Job summary

Premier Technical Recruitment client in Sheffield is seeking several Mechanical Fitters to join their manufacturing facility. You will assemble and build machinery from engineering drawings, fit mechanical components such as bearings, motors, gearboxes, shafts and rollers, and install hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

You will perform fault finding, adjustments and repairs, test and inspect equipment for safe operation, and support installation and commissioning with colleagues from fabrication

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical fitting within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Solid workshop practices and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and build machinery from engineering drawings.
• Fit bearings, motors, gearboxes, shafts and rollers.
• Install hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out mechanical fault finding, adjustments and repairs.

Our established client specialises in the manufacture of a wide range of balers and waste compactors supplied to clients throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth are now seeking to recruit a number of Mechanical Fitter professionals to be based in their Sheffield facility.

• Assembling and building machinery from engineering drawings.
• Fitting mechanical components including bearings, motors, gearboxes, shafts and rollers.
• Installing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Carrying out mechanical fault finding, adjustments and repairs.
• Testing and inspecting machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely.
• Supporting machinery installation and commissioning when required.
• Working closely with fabrication and engineering teams.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the required specification.
