Job summary

Premier Technical Recruitment Ltd client in Sheffield is recruiting Mechanical Fitters to join a busy facility. You will assemble machinery from drawings, fit components, and install hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The role includes fault finding, testing and commissioning support, with overtime and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanical fitter and able to read engineering drawings.
• Experience fitting bearings, motors, gearboxes, shafts and rollers.
• Familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and basic fault finding.

Our established client specialises in the manufacture of a wide range of balers and waste compactors supplied to clients throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth are now seeking to recruit a number of Mechanical Fitter professionals to be based in their Sheffield facility.

Core responsibilities

• Assembling and building machinery from engineering drawings.
• Fitting mechanical components including bearings, motors, gearboxes, shafts and rollers.
• Installing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Carrying out mechanical fault finding, adjustments and repairs.
• Testing and inspecting machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely.
• Supporting machinery installation and commissioning when required.
• Working closely with fabrication and engineering teams.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety.
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the required specification.
