Job summary

TechNichols Resourcing Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for an industrial manufacturing environment. You will work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, handling reactive and preventative maintenance, with opportunities to contribute to upgrades and projects.

The role requires a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent and hands-on experience with bearings, belts, gears, pumps, hydraulics and MIG welding.

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance or fitting within industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Heavy plant/machinery experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support various equipment and machinery across the factory.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and participate in project work.
• Contribute to upgrades and refurbishments of machinery.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime on production lines.
• Deal with bearings, belts, motors, gears, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics as needed.
• Utilise workshop skills, MIG welding where appropriate.

Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £48,000 to £52,000 per annum + overtime (paid at x1.5 & x2.0), Plus benefits

Hours: 4 on 4 off, 7 till 7 - rotation of days & night shifts

Location: Commutable from Goole, Market Weighton, Hessle, and Brough and surrounding areas

It would suit a Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a background in an industrial or manufacturing environment with ANY/SOME mechanical experience of bearings, shafts, belts, chains, motors, gears, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (MIG).

Responsibilities

• Supportive various equipment and machinery across their factory, dealing with and overcoming problems in a fast paced environment.
• Working through a planned preventative maintenance program as well as project and continuous improvement work.
• There is a lot of future planned projects involving upgrades and refurbs that all Engineers get a hand in doing.
• Reactive maintenance, working at pace attending to and resolving breakdowns swiftly and getting production lines back up and running again.
• Dealing with belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
• Any workshop skills will come in handy, ideally welding in MIG.

Requirements

• Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualifications
• Experience with mechanical maintenance or mechanical fitting work, within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
• Machinery maintenance experience
• Any experience of belts, chains, bearings, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics would be desirable
• Any MIG welding experience would be desirable
• Heavy plant/machinery experience would be great but not essential
• Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
• Friendly and adaptable working attitude
