Job summary

PT Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter for a days-only role on a large industrial site. You will keep production equipment running safely, reduce downtime, and support improvements across the site.

The role involves breakdown response, planned maintenance, and collaboration with production. A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification is required and factory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mechanical maintenance role.

• Ability to read engineering drawings.

The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you'll be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently while helping reduce downtime across site.

Day-to-day you'll be involved with:

• Responding to mechanical breakdowns and fault finding.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and TPM checks.
• Repairing and overhauling machinery and mechanical components.
• Working on hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.
• Supporting machinery installations and engineering improvement projects.
• Working closely with production to keep the plant running.
• Sharing knowledge with apprentices and junior engineers where needed.

What They're Looking For

• A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3).
• Experience in a mechanical maintenance or mechanical fitting position.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics would be ideal.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.

• £53,222 OTE through weekly productivity and maintenance bonuses.

Working Hours

This is a permanent days-only position working an average of 40.25 hours per week on a 4 on / 4 off pattern across an 8-week cycle. It gives you regular long weekends and a great work-life balance without rotating onto nights.
