Job summary

Linkit Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a substation project in Luton. The role requires a valid National Grid ticket and hands-on installation and fitting on site. The project starts 19 October 2026 and runs for a minimum of 6 weeks with 10-hour days, Monday to Friday, in an 11 on/3 off rotation.

MECHANICAL FITTER REQUIRED - LUTON

LRL require an experienced Mechanical Fitter who holds a valid National Grid ticket to work on a substation project in Luton.

Start Date: 19th October 2026

Duration: Minimum of 6 weeks

Working Hours: 10-hour days, Monday to Friday, working an 11 on, 3 off rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical fitting and installation work on site.
• Assist with the installation, positioning and assembly of mechanical equipment.
• Operate a telehandler to safely move and position materials around site.
• Follow site lifting procedures and health and safety regulations.
• Work alongside other trades to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

Requirements:

• Previous National Grid site experience.
• Valid National Grid ticket.
• Telehandler ticket would be beneficial.
