Job summary

TGS International Group is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support building services projects from Wolverhampton. The role focuses on tender analysis, take-offs, pricing, subcontractor enquiries, plant selection and commercial risk assessment through to tender handover.

The ideal candidate has 3–7 years' experience in mechanical estimating within building services, with strong HVAC knowledge and familiarity with BESA standards. On-site work in the Midlands with a full-time commitment.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years' experience in mechanical estimating within building services or construction.
• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Time-served plumber or pipefitter background advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and BESA DW/144 ductwork standards.

Responsibilities

• Review tender packages and identify scope gaps and technical queries.
• Carry out mechanical take-offs from drawings and 3D models.
• Prepare detailed estimates using labour norms, material costs and Bills of Quantities.
• Manage subcontractor and specialist trade enquiries, including BMS, insulation and water treatment.
• Prepare tender handover documentation, including assumptions and exclusions.
• Monitor material price trends and market conditions.
• Participate in client tender interviews and present mechanical proposals.
• Capture lessons learned to improve estimating accuracy.
