Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Mechanical Services Estimator to produce estimates and tenders for mechanical building-services projects. You will work with Pre-Construction, Commercial, Design and Operational teams from enquiry to tender submission and handover.

Prepare accurate estimates for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, public health and related plant, including labour, materials, plant and subcontractor packages, while recording assumptions and managing tender

Qualifications

• Confident communication skills when working with clients and teams.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical building-services systems and costs.
• Experience completing detailed take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Ability to prepare estimates covering materials, labour, plant and subcontractor packages.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and contract docs.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical installations.
• Produce accurate estimates covering labour, materials, plant and subcontracts.
• Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Analyse quotations and capture all costs in tender submissions.
• Record tender assumptions, qualifications and exclusions.
• Assess risks/opportunities and support bid strategy.
• Attend site visits, tender reviews and negotiations.
• Prepare handover information for delivery team.
