Mechanical Estimator – Diverse Projects, Real Progression

Location: Derbyshire (with flexible office hours to dodge the traffic!)

Hours: 8am–4pm (full-time)

Type: Permanent

Rates: £30 - £50 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Our clients are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator who’s ready to get involved in a wide range of exciting building services projects across the UK. From office fit-outs and leisure centres to schools, universities, and decarbonisation schemes – no two days are the same here.

What you’ll be working on:

• Projects ranging from £5k to £2m in HVAC, plumbing, heating, drainage
• Sectors include: public sector, healthcare, education, leisure, warehousing, and more
• Mostly Design & Build – understanding the journey from concept to cost
• Estimating from scratch using our in-house spreadsheet-based tools
• Close collaboration with PMs and clients – including the occasional MOD site

What we’re looking for:

• Solid experience in mechanical estimating (HVAC, plumbing, drainage)
• Able to interpret preliminary designs and turn them into accurate estimates
• Confident using spreadsheets – we’ve built our own estimating system
• Someone who can hit the ground running – we’re not looking to train from scratch
