At Serco, we support the development of the RAF’s next generation of aircrew, engineers, and air traffic controllers through our contract with the Air Cadet organization. We maintain and manage their fleet of gliders, and as our Aircraft Engineering Supervisor, you'll play a key role in keeping these aircraft operational and in the air.

  • You will carry out the responsibilities and duties of Support Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities in accordance with Military Aviation Authority Regulatory Publication Regulatory Article 1 and Part.
  • We are looking for an individual who can lead and supervise engineering personnel carrying out maintenance on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and other locations throughout the UK.
  • You will perform roles and duties as directed by business needs.
  • The role is based at RAF Syerston and requires regular UK-wide mobility.
  • You’ll be a key member of our aviation team, supporting each other, with career progression, flexible working, and early finishes on Fridays.
What you need to do the role:
  • Meet qualification and experience requirements, including MOD Phase 2 technical training or equivalent civilian training (civilian contractors).
  • Demonstrate experience in Support Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities or civilian equivalent, with at least 5 years’ experience in civilian industry or Armed Forces in a relevant trade group.
  • Possess good fault diagnosis skills, technical competence, and strong communication skills.
  • Hold a full driving licence and be medically fit for aircraft engineering environments, including manual handling and aircraft rigging/de-rigging.
