Job summary

CPXR, a Building Services contractor based in Sittingbourne, is seeking a Mechanical Estimator with strong experience in high-rise residential and Design & Build projects. You will work in a busy pre-construction team, producing detailed estimates for mechanical and plumbing packages up to £30m.

The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, taking-offs, tender submissions, and liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to support projects from tender through handover.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within Building Services.
• High-rise residential and Design & Build experience is essential.
• Experience preparing take-offs, estimates and tender submissions.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Experience using Quickscale or Extreme Estimating would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical and plumbing estimates for residential projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Complete accurate take-offs and cost estimates.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
• Collaborate with the electrical estimating team on joint bids.

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000

THE OPPORTUNITY

CPXR is recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator to join a growing Building Services contractor based in Sittingbourne.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Estimator with a background in high-rise residential and Design & Build projects looking to join a busy pre-construction team working on mechanical and plumbing packages valued between £5m and £30m.

The role will involve preparing detailed estimates, reviewing drawings and specifications, liaising with clients and suppliers, and supporting projects from tender stage through to handover.

THE ROLE

• Prepare detailed mechanical and plumbing estimates for residential projects
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Complete accurate take-offs and cost estimates
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process
• Collaborate with the electrical estimating team on joint bids
• Support labour forecasts, procurement schedules and pre-construction planning

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within Building Services
• High-rise residential and Design & Build experience is essential
• Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing installations
• Experience preparing take-offs, estimates and tender submissions
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills

SALARY & BENEFITS

• Competitive salary depending on experience

• Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
