Job summary

Vincent Gurney Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Estimator in London to prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical building services projects and price tenders up to £15 million. You will review drawings, specifications and tender documentation, produce supplier enquiries, and analyse quotations while identifying value engineering opportunities and risks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within Building Services.
• Experience pricing commercial mechanical projects.

Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Location: London

Salary: £80,000 per annum (DOE)

The Role:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for Mechanical Building Services projects.
• Pricing MEP tenders with values up to £15 million.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Producing enquiries for suppliers and specialist subcontract packages.
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and commercial risks.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the Building Services industry.
• Experience working for a Mechanical or M&E Contractor.
• Experience pricing commercial Mechanical projects.
• Trimble Estimation software experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing and mechanical building services.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Able to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines.
