Job summary

Oakmoor Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Internal Quality Assurer with a Mechanical Engineering background to support IQA processes for apprenticeship qualifications.

The role is based in Ellesmere Port, part-time (2–3 days per week), with a starting pro rata salary of £47k and a strong benefits package. You will work with the management team to assure quality of assessment, observe delivery staff, provide feedback, and support tutors through 1-2-1 sessions, group delivery, and

• IQA Qualification (D34, V1 or TAQA) required.
• Assessor Award (CAVA/A1/D32/33 or equivalent) required.
• L4 (or above) Engineering qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Verify assignments, portfolios and assessment activity to ensure quality of qualifications.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to deliver quality provisions and adhere to awarding bodies procedures.
• Provide guidance via 1-2-1 sessions, group delivery and standardisation meetings.
• One day a week of teaching HNC/BTEC Mechanical principles.

OVERVIEW: Mechanical Engineering Tutor / IQA

We are currently seeking an experienced Internal Quality Assurer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to support the IQA process, ensuring successful completion of Apprenticeships qualifications for an award-winning training provider.

The role is based in Ellesmere Port and is part time - 2 or 3 days per week.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Mechanical Engineering Tutor / IQA

Working closely within in the management team to ensure quality of assessment, teaching and learning across apprenticeship delivery

Observe training delivery staff in line with Assessment and Observation Strategy, providing feedback on best practice, identifying development needs and providing support

Support tutors and address areas for improvement identified as a result of sampling, monitoring; providing support and guidance as required through 1-2-1 sessions, group delivery and standardisation meetings

One day a week of teaching HNC/BTEC Mechanical principles

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Mechanical Engineering Tutor / IQA

• Verify assignments, portfolios and assessment activity to assist in the management of the quality of accredited qualifications for all contracts ensuring both internal and national standards are maintained and needs of learners are being met.
• Working closely with internal and external key stakeholders, while ensuring delivery of a range of quality provisions, you will follow code of practise and or the agreed procedure for any awarding bodies.
• Provide support and guidance as required through 1-2-1 sessions, group delivery and standardisation meetings
• Ensure the highest standards of learner completions are met and to monitor candidates' progress, including carrying out regular progression reviews/additional support reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES: Mechanical Engineering Tutor / IQA

• IQA Qualification (D34, V1 or TAQA)
• Assessor Award (CAVA/A1/D32/33 or equivalent)
• Strong occupational competence in Mechanical Engineering
• L4 (or above) Engineering qualification
