Job summary

CLARUS EDUCATION in Uxbridge is seeking a Section Manager for Mechanical Engineering. You will provide leadership for a team of lecturers, manage study programmes and help develop provision across the Section, while teaching 16 hours per week across various programmes.

Reporting to the Head of School for Engineering – Electronic and Mechanical, the post involves curriculum development, quality assurance, and building links with local employers to enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Level 6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector.
• Successful teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge and experience of Further Education programmes.
• Curriculum management, co-ordination and development experience.
• Experience of improving teaching, learning and assessment.
• Experience of leading/supervising a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of lecturers and manage study programmes.
• Teach 16 hours per week across a range of programmes.
• Develop provision across the Section to reflect local industry needs.
• Recruit, retain and achieve student outcomes within the area of responsibility.
• Build links with employers to enhance placement and employment opportunities.
