Job summary

Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion seeks an enthusiastic Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering for the Graig Campus, Llanelli. Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across FE ME programmes, plus in-company courses.

Lead courses, monitor progress and support wellbeing while collaborating with employers to shape curriculum. Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree, a teaching qualification or commitment to PGCE within two years, and have strong workshop and industry software

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
• Teaching qualification or commitment to obtain PGCE within two years.
• GCSE English and Maths at minimum Grade C.
• Relevant teaching experience.
• High competency in industry-standard Mechanical Engineering software.
• Practical ability with workshop machinery and fault-finding.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Good digital literacy and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality FE Mechanical Engineering lessons and assessments.
• Conduct practical assessments and mark coursework per awarding body rules.
• Act as Course Leader for an assigned programme and coordinate delivery.
• Deliver flexible teaching including day and evening sessions and Open Events.
• Contribute to development of commercial and in-company courses.
• Maintain links with employers to inform curriculum and progression opportunities.
