Job summary

Coleg Sir Gâr is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join our Engineering team at the Graig Campus, Llanelli. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Further Education Mechanical Engineering programmes, alongside commercial and in-company courses for local industry.

The successful candidate will combine strong theoretical knowledge with practical expertise to deliver engaging, industry-focused learning and prepare learners

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
• Teaching qualification or commitment to obtain PGCE within 2 years.
• GCSE English and Maths at minimum Grade C or O Level equivalent.
• Experience in teaching mechanical engineering is essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons, tutorials and workshop sessions across FE Mechanical Engineering.
• Plan, conduct and mark practical assessments and examinations in line with awarding body requirements.
• Act as Course Leader for an assigned programme and coordinate delivery and assessment planning.
• Work flexibly including day and evening teaching and attendance at events.
• Develop and deliver external and commercial courses and collaborate with employers.
