Job summary

Babcock International invites applications for its Mechanical Engineering Graduate Programme in Plymouth. Starting September 2027, salaries start at £35,000 with rotation across placements over two years, designed to build technical expertise and leadership for a career in naval and civil engineering.

You’ll rotate every three to six months, gain hands-on experience from design to in-service support, and receive mentorship, with progression toward Chartered Engineer status and permanent roles

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Mechanical, Structural, Motorsport, Materials, Mechatronics, Engine Systems, Welding, Automotive, or AeroMechanical.
• Security clearance requirements apply to certain locations and roles.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through placements every 3-6 months to gain diverse project experience.
• Support engineering lifecycle activities from concept to decommissioning.
• Lead or contribute to reviews, analyses and integration of mechanical systems.
