Job summary

MARCH is seeking enthusiastic Apprentice Mechanical Engineers to join our team and support projects across the water and wastewater sector. You will gain hands-on experience on site and in our workshop while working toward a recognised mechanical qualification.

Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will learn installation, maintenance, testing, fault finding, and problem-solving on real-world projects that benefit local communities.

Qualifications

  • A pursuing or completed NVQ2/3 Mechanical Installation or equivalent.
  • Interest in engineering within industrial, process, water or wastewater environments.
  • CSCS card or affiliated scheme.
  • Positive, self-motivated attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Attend college training sessions and complete coursework on time.
  • Support mechanical installation in workshop and site, safely.
  • Learn installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.
  • Participate in fabrication, assembly and mechanical fitting across projects.
  • Develop skills in mechanical testing, fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Use hand and power tools safely following engineering practices.
  • Complete all practical and vocational requirements of the apprenticeship.
  • Build and maintain an apprenticeship portfolio with up-to-date records.
  • Follow company policies, safe systems of work and health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and customers while prioritising safety, quality and environmental responsibility.
