Job summary

SSE plc is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for Keadby Power Station to safeguard safety, reliability and efficiency of plant operations. You’ll contribute to short- and long-term planning and asset integrity management.

The role covers maintenance planning, project delivery, budget oversight and contractor management, with a focus on improving plant performance. Degree-qualified engineers with SHE/NEBOSH knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience in power station maintenance.
• Knowledge of SHE standards and NEBOSH beneficial.
• Proficiency with Maximo and IT/financial reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in strategic management and integrity of mechanical assets across the station.
• Contribute to maintenance plans, budgeting, and contractor oversight.
• Manage projects from financial justification through to commissioning.
• Maintain plant performance focusing on safety, reliability and efficiency.
• Provide technical support and maintain engineering records.
