Job summary
Astute People is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead maintenance and reliability across the UK fleet. You will develop and improve maintenance systems, support plant modifications, and drive performance improvements.
The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, health & safety qualifications, and proven supervisory experience with energy-from-waste or biomass assets. You will coordinate with contractors, deliver engineering solutions, and mentor the team.
Qualifications
- Ideally a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety certification.
- Chartered status or working towards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously improve mechanical maintenance systems across the UK fleet.
- Provide mechanical engineering expertise for plant modifications and maintenance activities.
- Drive improvements in plant reliability, maintainability and performance.
- Lead root cause analyses and technical investigations.
- Conduct technical surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
- Ensure plans align with standards and remove obstacles to implementation.
- Prepare specifications and coordinate activities with contractors and suppliers.
