Job summary

NES Group Ltd in Teesside is seeking a Responsible Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering leadership team at a major industrial manufacturing site. This senior role ensures mechanical assets are safe, compliant and reliable, supporting asset integrity and long-term engineering strategy across fixed and rotating equipment, pressure systems, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Degree-qualified, Chartered Engineer with 10+ years’ engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of COMAH, pressure systems and PSSR.
Experience with ASME, API and HSE/HSG guidance.

Responsibilities

Maintain mechanical asset integrity for fixed and rotating equipment.
Ensure pressure systems integrity with PSSR and COMAH compliance.
Establish engineering standards, governance and regulatory compliance.
Approve repairs and modifications to EHS-critical equipment.
Lead asset life planning and engineering improvement strategies.
Collaborate with external engineering specialists, inspection bodies and Competent Authority.
Support CAPEX, maintenance and asset renewal strategies.
Lead and develop mechanical engineering duty holders and technical teams.
