Job summary

Astutes Power Team in the UK is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support a fleet of Biomass and Energy from Waste power stations nationwide. You will act as the senior electrical authority across the full lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and service modifications, ensuring plant performance and long-term maintainability.

You will develop maintenance systems, support outages, lead electrical upgrade projects, and provide expert guidance to ensure safe, reliable operation

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• NEBOSH or IOSH in Health & Safety (or similar).
• Chartered membership or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve electrical maintenance systems, processes, and practices across the UK fleet.
• Provide electrical engineering support during planned outages, major maintenance activities, and critical operational interventions.
• Drive improvements in plant reliability, maintainability, and overall operational performance.
• Undertake technical surveys, inspections, condition assessments, and investigations to identify opportunities for reliability and maintenance improvements.
• Support and deliver electrical upgrade, modification, and improvement projects across operational power plants.
• Provide day-to-day electrical technical support across the UK power plant fleet, including remote troubleshooting, fault finding, inspections, and technical guidance.
• Develop technical specifications, coordinate technical activities with contractors and suppliers, and support the implementation of effective electrical engineering solutions.
