Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) is seeking an NVQ Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our Mechanical Engineer team at HMP Belmarsh. This full-time role (39hrs) involves maintaining heating, water and building services within a high-security prison, with a 5% uplift for shift and weekend work.

You will collaborate with Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners and other colleagues to keep the prison safe, secure and compliant, applying Water Supply Regulations and L8

Qualifications

• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water, or building services systems
• Minimum two years’ experience working as a plumber or in an equivalent role
• Familiar with Water Supply Regulations and L8 requirements
• Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) operations and health and safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Maintain heating, water and building services systems within a high-security prison
• Work alongside Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters and other trades to ensure safe and compliant operations
• Apply Water Supply Regulations and Legionella control measures in daily duties
• Support planned preventive maintenance activities and safety protocols
