Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) at HMP Winchester is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Plumber) to join our facilities team, supporting safe and secure operations across prison services.

The role requires Level 3 plumbing and plumbing-related qualifications, with experience in commercial/industrial heating and water systems. You will work Monday to Friday, 39 hours weekly, in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water or building service systems.
• Two years’ experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent
• Be familiar with and able to work to Water supply regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
• Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations
• Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
• L8 awareness training – Desirable (Provided if required)

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of heating, water and building service systems within HMP Winchester.
• Work Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team.
• Collaborate with Plumbers, Electricians, and other trades to ensure safe, secure prison facilities.
