Job summary

Schlumberger Limited invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer Intern (12 months) starting Summer 2027 at the Stonehouse Technology Centre, Gloucestershire. You'll collaborate with engineers across functions on real-world challenges, contribute to innovative product concepts, and gain hands‑on experience with CAD tools, modelling and testing.

You will be supported through design validation, prototyping and field trials, with emphasis on reliability, cost efficiency and manufacturability in

Qualifications

Penultimate or final year student in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Materials or related field
Fluent oral and written English communication
Motivation, autonomy, teamwork and ingenuity
Project work experience (personal or academic)
Proficient in a major CAD tool and able to read 2D drawings/GD&T
Clear technical notes, test reports and slide updates

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers and cross‑functional teams on real‑world challenges.
Support new product development through definition, validation and field trials from early requirements to prototype or commercial readiness.
Analyze, design and develop solution concepts with attention to feasibility, risk and cost.
Prove concepts via modelling or physical testing; coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality.
Utilise industry tools (e.g., ANSYS) for modelling and simulation while gaining hands‑on testing experience.
