Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to maintain essential mechanical building services in a busy Wiltshire hospital. You’ll work on heating, chilled water, ventilation and plant fault-finding, rotating shifts and on-call duties to keep patient and clinical services running.

Based in Wiltshire, the role offers a permanent full-time position with a salary of £35,000–£40,000 per annum, plus pension, holidays and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent training with a Level 3 qualification.
• Experience maintaining mechanical building services in regulated environments.
• Fault-finding and repair skills across mechanical plant and systems.
• Knowledge of permits, risk assessments and mechanical isolation procedures.
• Experience using CAFM to record maintenance work.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and out-of-hours call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned maintenance, inspections, servicing, fault-finding and reactive repairs on mechanical building services.
• Maintain boilers, pumps, heating and chilled water systems, calorifiers and pressure systems.
• Maintain ventilation equipment, including air handling units, extract systems, fans and filters.
• Respond to plant failures, alarms, leaks and service interruptions, escalating risks where necessary.
• Record maintenance work, repairs and compliance evidence in the CAFM system.
• Follow permits, risk assessments, healthcare guidance and local safe systems of work.
