Job summary

Search Consultancy Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (FMCG Packaging) to install, maintain and optimise production and packaging equipment, supporting safe, efficient output in a busy North Wales site.

You'll work hands-on with maintenance, solve problems, and contribute to improvements. The role is permanent, Mon-Fri, 8am-5:15pm with 1pm finish on Friday, and offers a salary of £45,000–£50,000.

Qualifications

• GCSE English, Maths, and Science required.
• Time-served engineering apprenticeship (NVQ or above).
• City & Guilds 18th Edition Electrical qualification.
• City & Guilds PAT testing certificate.
• Experience with process, manufacturing or packaging equipment.
• Flexible, quality-focused team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and set up production and packaging equipment for each run.
• Ensure equipment is safe to use and operated safely at all times.
• Clean equipment and work areas after tasks to prep for next set-up.
• Maintain plant, machinery, buildings, and records for reliable performance.
• Collaborate with production to develop work aids and improved methods.
• Investigate non-conformance and support ongoing improvements.
