Job description

Society is in your hands, what are you waiting for?

Sweco is currently recruiting an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative Building Services team. Could this be you?

The position can be based in London or Maidenhead. We operate on a hybrid basis, meaning you'll spend at least three days per week in the office with the team and can work from home the other two days if you wish.

What does the role involve?

As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you'll support the delivery of a variety of projects for key clients within a multidisciplinary design team. Your responsibilities will include activities from project feasibility to detailed design and construction support across small, medium, and large iconic projects.

Typically, you will:
  • Produce design deliverables including calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports to achieve optimal engineering solutions in accordance with our Integrated Management System and project requirements.
  • Check supplier proposals against project needs.
  • Liaise with and manage equipment suppliers during project execution.
  • Participate in technical reviews and internal project meetings.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to technical policies, processes, and design solutions.
What do you need to be successful in the role?

You should have a recognized academic qualification in Building Services, such as a Degree, HND, or HNC, and be working towards a professional qualification and Chartership/membership with a relevant body like CIBSE.

Familiarity with BREEAM, energy assessment qualifications, and experience with high-rise and technically complex buildings are advantageous.

Experience in a similar role is preferred, but recent graduates seeking their next step are also encouraged to apply.

What’s in it for you?

Enjoy an inclusive, friendly, and flexible work environment that encourages growth and development. Be part of a meaningful job helping to transform society by being a trusted consultant to our clients.

If you have the required skills and are eager to join a company offering genuine career progression opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
