Sweco is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative Building Services team. This position can be based in London or Maidenhead. We operate on a hybrid basis, requiring at least three days per week in the office with the team, with the option to work from home for the remaining two days.

What does the role involve?

As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you'll support the delivery of various projects for key clients within a multidisciplinary design team. Your responsibilities will include activities from project feasibility to detailed design and construction support, working on small, medium, and large iconic projects.

Typical responsibilities include:
  • Producing design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports to achieve optimal engineering solutions in line with our Integrated Management System and project requirements.
  • Checking supplier proposals against project specifications.
  • Liaising with and managing equipment suppliers during project execution.
  • Participating in technical reviews and internal project meetings.
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to technical policies, processes, and design solutions.
What do you need to be successful?

You should have a recognized academic qualification in Building Services (such as a Degree, HND, or HNC) and be working towards a professional qualification and Chartership/membership of a relevant professional body like CIBSE. Familiarity with BREEAM, energy assessment qualifications, and experience with high-rise and technically complex buildings are advantageous.

Experience in a similar role is ideal, but recent graduates seeking their next step are also encouraged to apply.

What’s in it for you?

Enjoy an inclusive, friendly, and flexible working environment that encourages growth and development. Contribute to meaningful projects that help transform society by being a trusted consultant to our clients.

If you possess the required skills and are eager to join a company offering genuine career progression opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
