Job summary

Pertemps Northampton seeks Mechanical Engineers for a permanent, full-time post based in Cranoe. The role focuses on maintaining plant, equipment and infrastructure to current standards, with a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern and 12-hour shifts.

The successful candidate should be apprentice trained to at least level 2 (C&G / EAL NVQ) or have equivalent hands-on experience, and must be eligible to work in the UK. Salary is £46,000–£49,000 per annum with paid overtime and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering background with hands-on experience.
• Understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated and willing to support others.
• Manufacturing/process experience with evidence of PPM delivery and control.
• Ability to demonstrate fault-finding skills.
• Open to personal development per training plan.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production to maximise utilisation of site assets.
• Maintain maximum effectiveness and benefit from existing site equipment.
• Assist with development of new manufacturing methods and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Proactively drive improvement and cost savings of energy and utilities whilst meeting varying demands.
• Work cross-functionally to deliver a consistent approach to continuous improvement.
• Ensure all work complies with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct planned maintenance of plant in adherence to the CMMS system (Holistech).
• Complete relevant statutory documentation.
