Job summary

Gold Group is seeking an experienced Contract Mechanical Engineer to join a major UK land combat vehicle programme. Location is primarily Bristol with 1 day on site and 1 day remote, starting ASAP. The role runs for an initial 9 months, with 4 days on site and one day remote work pattern.

Offer includes a rate of £45-50 per hour. You will provide mechanical expertise, resolve cross-project issues, and support engineering decisions and programme delivery within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification Level 4 or above.
• Professional registration as EngTech or equivalent.
• Experience providing technical engineering advice and delivering outputs.
• Ability to gain SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise.
• Identify, investigate and help resolve cross-project technical issues.
• Provide sound technical advice to support engineering decisions and programme delivery.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts and integration issues across programme pillars.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Produce and contribute to successful engineering outputs and technical deliverables.
• Engage with a wide range of engineering, project and stakeholder teams.
• Support the integration and successful delivery of the programme.
• Where required, support trials activity at other locations.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to contribute to one of the UK's major land combat vehicle programmes.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will help identify and resolve technical and design conflicts across different areas of the programme, working closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise.
• Identify, investigate and help resolve cross-project technical issues.

Essential Skills & Experience

• A suitable engineering qualification and level of training at Level 4 or above.
• Professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or equivalent, as a minimum.
• Demonstrable experience providing technical engineering advice and delivering successful engineering outputs.
• The ability to gain SC Clearance

Desirable Experience

The following experience would be advantageous:

• Experience of asset management.
• Experience working with in-service military equipment.
• Experience working on large and complex engineering programmes.
• Experience working with large and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience within the defence, military vehicle or wider land systems environment.
