Job summary

Evodia Limited, Bristol, seeks a Contract Mechanical Engineer to resolve cross-project issues and ensure seamless system integration. Hybrid role with on-site work in Bristol and occasional supplier site visits as needed.

The ideal candidate has an engineering qualification at level 4 (HNC) or higher and is EngTech registered, with a track record of delivering engineering outputs in complex programmes.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyse, and resolve technical issues impacting the programme

• Participate in Tiger Team activities for rapid resolution
• Ensure clear documentation of issues and lessons learned
• Support risk mitigation strategies related to design and integration
• Maintain awareness of current engineering standards and best practices

Job description

Location: Bristol (hybrid working - 3 days onsite, with up to 1 day at supplier site in Merthyr Tydfil, expenses to visit Merthyr Tydfil site are claimable), As part of the Integrate Pillar within the AJAX programme, you will be instrumental in resolving cross-project technical issues, ensuring seamless integration of systems and components across different teams. Working within a collaborative Tiger Team environment, you'll support project delivery by identifying conflicts early, providing expert advice, and facilitating communication across engineering functions.

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in providing technical advice and successfully delivering engineering outputs within complex project environments. The ideal candidate will hold an engineering qualification at level 4 (HNC) or above and be registered as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or equivalent.

Essential:

• Engineering qualification at level 4 (HNC) or higher
• Registered as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or similar
• Proven experience offering technical advice and delivering successful engineering outputs within complex projects

Desirable:

• Experience working on military asset management or in-service military equipment
• Experience with large, multi-stakeholder engineering programmes
