We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer our client based in Low Marnham, NG23 on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will ideally be apprentice trained, to minimumlevel 2(C&G / EAL NVQ). We will also consider those who have an attitude for mechanical work or have experience in a similar role. They will work as part of a knowledgeable team to ensure that all plant, equipment, buildings and infrastructure are maintained in accordance with current health, safety, environmental and equipment legislation standards.
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days/nights (average of 43 hours a week). You must be able to complete both days and nights as part of your shift pattern - Hours are 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, days 05.30 - 17.45 / nights 17.30 - 05.45 ( At the end of your shift, 15 minutes allowance (handover/shower time).
Entitled to 2 x paid 30-minute break to be taken at an appropriate time throughout working shift

Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering background with hands-on experience.
- Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly motivated and willing to support others.
- Manufacturing / Process experience with evidence of PPM delivery and control.
- Ability to demonstrate fault-finding skills.
- Must be open to further personal development in line with the Company training plan.
- Be able to work on your own, proficiently, without immediate supervision, or as part of a team.
- Must be eligible to work in UK.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with production to maximise utilisation of site assets.
- Maintain maximum effectiveness and benefit from existing site equipment.
- Assist with development of new manufacturing methods and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Proactively drive improvement and cost savings of energy and utilities whilst maintaining the ability to meet varying and increasing demands from production.
- Work cross functionally to deliver a consistent and dynamic approach to continuous improvement.
- To ensure all work is completed in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Conduct planned maintenance of plant in adherence to the CMMS system (Holistech).
- Completion of all relevant, statutory documentation.

- The role sits within the Mechanical team, therefore multi skilled electrical skills are not required as they would not be utilised in this position - Candidates must have strong, hands‑on mechanical skills relevant to the role.
