Job summary

Ibstock Plc in Sheffield seeks a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to join the Anstone Factory. You will provide plant-wide maintenance, support production targets, and perform mechanical repairs to heavy machinery.

The role requires time served or advanced apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, pneumatics & hydraulics knowledge, welding/fabrication and proficiency in MS Word/Excel, with a focus on safety and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Time Served or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Maintenance experience with fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems.
• Knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication.
• Computer literate in MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety law and practice in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Promote highest Health and Safety standards in the workplace.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs on existing heavy machinery; install/new plant and fabricate parts.
• Apply continuous improvement tools to optimise factory performance.
• Collaborate with other functions to improve overall factory performance.

Role

To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to come and join our team at our Anstone Factory in Kiveton Park, Sheffield.The successful candidate will be providing plant wide maintenance service, departmental support and mechanical repairs ensuring that all production targets are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the highest Health and Safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.


• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs to existing heavy machinery, potentially installing new plant, designing and fabricating parts/structures.


• Ensure rigorous application of continuous improvement tools and techniques across all areas of the manufacturing facility to optimise performance.


• Work collaboratively across all support functions, by building effective working relationships, to optimise factory performance.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Time Served


• Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical), Engineering Manufacture (Mechanical), Mechatronics (Mechanical) or equivalent


• Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems


• Knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication


• Computer literate in MS Word and Excel


• Knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques


• Good knowledge of current Health and Safety Law and best practice application within a manufacturing environment
