Job summary

Ibstock Plc are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team at the Anstone Factory in Kiveton Park, Sheffield. The successful candidate will provide plant wide maintenance service and mechanical repairs to ensure production targets are met.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship, competence in pneumatics and hydraulics, welding skills, and strong health and safety awareness. We offer a collaborative environment and clear career progression.

Qualifications

  • Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical) or equivalent.
  • Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems.
  • Knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety law and best practice in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the highest Health and Safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs to existing heavy machinery, potentially installing new plant, designing and fabricating parts/structures.
  • Ensure rigorous application of continuous improvement tools and techniques across all areas of the manufacturing facility to optimise performance.
  • Work collaboratively across all support functions, by building effective working relationships, to optimise factory performance.

To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to come and join our team at our Anstone Factory in Kiveton Park, Sheffield.

The successful candidate will be providing plant wide maintenance service, departmental support and mechanical repairs ensuring that all production targets are maintained.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical), Engineering Manufacture (Mechanical), Mechatronics (Mechanical) or equivalent
  • Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems
  • Knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication
  • Computer literate in MS Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Good knowledge of current Health and Safety Law and best practice application within a manufacturing environment
