Job summary

A prominent building product manufacturer in Throckley is seeking an Engineering Planner to lead maintenance coordination and implement efficient practices. This full-time, permanent role requires strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills, leadership in planning maintenance activities, and the ability to coordinate resources effectively. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications and a commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Qualifications

Engineering Training / Qualifications (NVQ3, HNC) required.
Demonstrable Mechanical and Electrical Engineering experience.
Coordination of people and resources to maintain efficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance shut coordination and implement best practices.
Control and prioritize work backlog for maintenance activities.
Liaise with production to ensure routine maintenance is efficient.

Contribute to implementing a new CMMS and a T-card system.
Provide a schedule of work to maintain and improve asset reliability.
Coordinate with production, services and central functions for planned maintenance and costed job requests.
Ensure accurate records and documentation for all plant and insurance records.
Coordinate contractors on site to ensure safe, controlled activities meet engineering standards.

To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Engineering Planner to come and join our team at our Throckley site in NE15 9EQ

Specific responsibilities include:

Leadership of the maintenance shut coordination, establishing best engineering practices
Control and populate the engineering 2 shift plan for all engineering personnel across all disciplines including contractors. To chair weekly scheduling meetings for planned activities
Control, populate and prioritise a work backlog for all maintenance activities or activities involving the engineering team
Key involvement with the implementation of a new CMMS system and T-card system
Work closely with Engineering Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering manager and Operational Managers to provide a schedule of work for shift engineers to maintain and improve the reliability of assets
Liaise with production, services and central functions, to ensure that routine maintenance is planned and job requests are executed and costed efficiently and effectively
Ensure that equipment removed from the plant, that is being repaired in-house, is coordinated through the 2 shift plan, Work Orders allocated to the repair of each item and appropriate cost captured
Control of accurate records and documentation for all production and auxiliary plant including insurance records
Site contact for contract Coordinate contractors to ensure safe and controlled activities are completed on site and to the quality of engineering standards

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Engineering Training / Qualifications (NVQ3, HNC )
IOSH or equivalent
