Job Description:

About the role: We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technician for Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works, WD3 9SQ. You will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance, including inspection, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modification, and repair of electrical and mechanical plant equipment. You will also participate in minor projects, electrical fault finding, and emergency repairs to ensure continuous plant operation.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing scheduled maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigating failures and repairing equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
• Providing technical advice and support, including training for trainees.
• Working on equipment such as pumps, control gear, motors, VSDs, valves, sensors, PLCs, and chemical dosing systems.
• Participating in standby rota after training.

Location and Working Pattern: Maple Lodge STW, Rickmansworth WD3 9SQ. Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities, potentially increasing earnings by £8,000 - £10,000. PPE and tools are provided.

Candidate Requirements:

• Time-served apprentice with experience in electrical systems in a multi-skilled capacity.
• Qualifications such as ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering, with mechanical upskilling preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues, physical fitness for confined spaces, and a valid driving license.
