Job summary

Arcus FM is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer for a field-based role covering the South London area. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across client sites, diagnosing faults in electrical, mechanical and HVAC equipment, and ensuring health & safety compliance.

You will liaise with customers, support apprentices, and benefit from company van, 25 days leave plus bank holidays, 4% bonus and overtime at enhanced rates. Training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance.
• Essential Qualification: 18th Edition.
• Desirable: F-Gas, Test & Inspection, Unvented.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Retail or commercial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on M&E systems.

• Ensure health & safety compliance on site.
• Provide technical support across multiple sites.

We are seeking a dedicated professional to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio, ensuring top-quality service delivery and first-line response to emergencies.

• £36,910 or £42,447 (depending on experience)
• Full door-to-door pay
• Up to 4% bonus
• All overtime paid at time-and-a-half

About the Job

• Performing planned and reactive maintenance on M&E systems
• Diagnosing and resolving faults in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
• Providing technical support and expertise across multiple sites
• Liaising with customers to deliver outstanding service
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior engineers

To be successful you will have:

• Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance
• Essential Qualifications: 18th Edition
• Desirable Qualifications: F-Gas, Test & Inspection, Unvented
• Previous experience in a similar role (retail or commercial experience preferred)
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• IT proficiency and ability to manage workload effectively

• This is a field-based role, requiring travel between client sites
• On-call duty required (1 in 4 weeks)
