We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of improvement activities and support site-wide projects
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily activity planning and work prioritization
- Maintain records within the site maintenance system (Calibrations/Inspections/Breakdowns/Repairs, etc.)
- Evaluate the quantity and availability of spare parts required to be in stock
- Identify and propose subcontractors and suppliers, and assist in the development of requests for quotes
- Deliver fast, effective electrical/mechanical fault finding by investigating root causes and implementing preventative solutions
- Ensure all corrective maintenance actions are carried out accurately and constructively
- Ensure that all consumed parts are booked out correctly and recorded as necessary
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
- Practice continuous improvement, innovation, and proactiveness for improved ways of working, offering possible solutions to encountered problems
Requirements:
- Education: Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Time-served fully indentured modern apprenticeship
- HND / Foundation Degree in Engineering
- Relevant IOSH Safety Training
Experience:
- Significant experience within manufacturing and maintenance environments, such as FMCG, or other modern industrial sectors. Applicants with a hands-on maintenance background, such as a fully indentured modern apprenticeship, would be advantageous
- Good hands-on knowledge of electronic, electrical, and PLC control systems
- Experience with pneumatic systems; air rams, solenoids, and pressure sensors
- Knowledge of ATEX-rated areas is a plus
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and conducting risk assessments
- Good organizational and decision-making skills
- Ability to make quick, accurate decisions

- IT literate (capable of inputting work and times into maintenance systems)
