Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of improvement activities and support site-wide projects
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily activity planning and work prioritization
• Maintain records within the site maintenance system (Calibrations/Inspections/Breakdowns/Repairs, etc.)
• Evaluate the quantity and availability of spare parts required to be in stock
• Identify and propose subcontractors and suppliers, and assist in the development of requests for quotes
• Deliver fast, effective electrical/mechanical fault finding by investigating root causes and implementing preventative solutions
• Ensure all corrective maintenance actions are carried out accurately and constructively
• Ensure that all consumed parts are booked out correctly and recorded as necessary
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
• Practice continuous improvement, innovation, and proactiveness for improved ways of working, offering possible solutions to encountered problems

Requirements:

• Education: Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Time-served fully indentured modern apprenticeship
• HND / Foundation Degree in Engineering
• Relevant IOSH Safety Training

Experience:

• Significant experience within manufacturing and maintenance environments, such as FMCG, or other modern industrial sectors. Applicants with a hands-on maintenance background, such as a fully indentured modern apprenticeship, would be advantageous
• Good hands-on knowledge of electronic, electrical, and PLC control systems
• Experience with pneumatic systems; air rams, solenoids, and pressure sensors
• Knowledge of ATEX-rated areas is a plus
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings
• Knowledge of health and safety standards and conducting risk assessments
• Good organizational and decision-making skills
• Ability to make quick, accurate decisions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable
• Strong attention to detail
• Forward-thinking attitude
• Willingness to pursue ongoing training
• IT literate (capable of inputting work and times into maintenance systems)
