Job summary

Vector Recruitment Ltd is helping a well-established British engineering company in Bedford to recruit a Mechanical Engineer on a 12 month fixed-term contract. The role sits in a small team focused on reviewing and consolidating engineering documentation for a large portfolio of electromechanical products.

You will work closely with design, manufacturing and engineering teams, gaining exposure to product design, risk assessments, testing and lifecycle documentation.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
• Experience reviewing or producing engineering drawings, BOMs, manufacturing documentation or technical reports.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing existing drawings, BOMs, specifications and documentation.
• Building and updating technical files using templates and processes.
• Supporting machinery compliance and CE/UKCA activities.
• Assisting with inspections, testing and evidence gathering.
• Maintaining accurate document registers and revision histories.
