Job summary

Vision Recruitment Ltd in Bedford is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with around 5 years of Mechanical Design/Product Design experience to join our R&D team. You will develop accurate mechanical design solutions for new and existing products, ensuring functionality and manufacturability while meeting project timelines.

The role requires a degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, machining and sheet

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or Electronics Engineering.
• 3 - 5 years' experience in Mechanical Design/Product Design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, machining, sheet metal fabrication or assembly techniques.
• Awareness of design for manufacture, design for assembly and cost reduction methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and effective mechanical design solutions to support the development and delivery of both new and existing products.
• Ensure design solutions satisfy functional requirements, manufacturability and project timescales.
• Deliver prototype assembly, testing, verification and validation activities and identify opportunities to improve product designs and engineering processes.

We are now growing our R and D team in Bedford and are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer with around 5 years of Mechanical Design/Product Design experience. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will produce accurate and effective mechanical design solutions to support the development and delivery of both new and existing products, ensure design solutions satisfy functional requirements, manufacturability and project timescales, deliver prototype assembly, testing, verification and validation activities and identify opportunities to improve product designs and engineering processes.
