About the Company - Our client, a leader in distributed energy storage, is seeking a Director in Mechanical Systems Engineering to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the physical systems onboard energy storage systems.

About the Role - Design and develop integrated EV and power electronic cooling and heating systems. Support the creation of RFQ/RFI documents and support supplier engagement. Lead the development and maintenance of system and component level DFMEAs. Lead the development and management of DVP&R schedules. Choose and specify materials and components required, create detailed CAD drawings. Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, and support system production. Collaborate with suppliers to improve cost, manufacturability, and quality of engineering design.

Qualifications - MEng degree in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop integrated EV and power electronic cooling and heating systems.
2. Support the creation of RFQ/RFI documents and supplier engagement.
3. Lead the development and maintenance of system and component level DFMEAs.
4. Lead the development and management of DVP&R schedules.
5. Specify materials and components, and create detailed CAD drawings.
6. Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and support system production.
7. Collaborate with suppliers to enhance cost, manufacturability, and quality of engineering designs.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of five years’ experience in automotive, aerospace, or related fields, with electric vehicles, batteries, or electric motors.
• Excellent SolidWorks skills.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical EV components, including CAN protocol.
• Hands-on practical experience.
• Proficiency in simulation tools, analyzing test data, and correlating to CAE results.
• Ability to work proactively with minimal support using a logical approach in environments with minimal documented processes.
• Excellent knowledge of GD&T, drawing, and assembly document creation.
