Solutions Limited in Stevenage is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with injection moulding experience to design tools and tooling components in 3D and 2D. You will join a small design team reporting to the director and take projects from concept through manufacture.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Injection Moulding
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum + Overtime + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5pm / Friday, 8am – 4pm

Are you a Design Engineer with experience in injection moulding? Are you looking for an autonomous role offering varied technical projects, customer involvement and the opportunity to see your designs manufactured in an in-house toolroom?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering company supplying injection mould tooling to customers across the medical, automotive, switchgear and packaging industries.

You will join a small design team reporting directly to the director, designing tools ranging from single-impression moulds to multi-cavity hot runner systems. Working closely with the in-house toolroom, you will take projects from design through to manufacture.

Your duties will involve designing injection mould tools and components in 3D and 2D, carrying out design reviews and ensuring designs are suitable for manufacture. Additionally, you will manage projects, liaise with customers and contribute to research and development, delivering high-quality designs within agreed timescales.

CAD experience is essential. The company uses Creo and SolidWorks, and candidates with experience in other CAD packages will be considered, with cross-training available.

The Role:

• Design high-precision injection mould tools, from single-impression to multi-cavity hot runner systems

• Monday – Friday, 41.5 hours per week, with overtime paid at standard rate plus 10%

The Candidate:

• Experienced Design Engineer with a background in injection moulding. Previous tooling design experience is welcome, and candidates looking to move into tooling design are encouraged to apply.
