Job summary

Teledyne UK in Lincoln is seeking a Mechanical Development Engineer to support safety-critical product development and manufacturing. You will contribute design and analysis across materials, tolerances and supplier interfaces, ensuring cost-effective, reliable solutions for high-reliability applications.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, participate in design reviews, and help maintain product data packs while staying abreast of manufacturing advances and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience using 3D design software – AutoCAD Inventor preferred.
• Experience in Design for Manufacture (DfM).
• Design to component level experience.
• Exposure to safety-critical design requirements is beneficial.
• Able to communicate with external customers and suppliers.
• Understanding of FEA and related software would help.
• Adaptable with good attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Able to manage own time and workload.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multi-disciplinary team on high-reliability, safety-critical products.
• Support development of cost-effective, manufacturable designs.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure materials and tolerances meet specs.
• Participate in design reviews and communicate requirements clearly.
• Contribute to development and management of product data packs.
• Support future bid work with sales and development teams.
