Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a UK manufacturer specialising in safety-critical mechanical products and respiratory equipment. You will own projects from concept to production, develop prototypes and support manufacturing with robust documentation.

The role focuses on end-to-end product development, including design for manufacture, prototyping and testing, with strong CAD and DFMEA emphasis. Onsite, Monday–Friday hours apply.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design fundamentals with practical development experience.
• Experience taking products from concept through prototyping to production.
• Ability to balance detailed design with manufacturing support and customer interaction.
• Proven capability to design precision components for safety-critical applications.
• Knowledge of injection moulding, rubber moulding, machining or fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of mechanical design and development from concept to production.
• Produce 3D CAD models, drawings, specifications, and docs.
• Develop prototypes, test fixtures, and manufacturing jigs.
• Support NPI, product improvements, and engineering changes.
• Apply DFMEA and engineering quality processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Coordinate external engineering and testing resources as needed.
