Job summary

Gael Force Marine Equipment in Inverness is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead product design from concept to prototype, test, manufacture and deployment. Join a multidisciplinary team delivering cutting‑edge aquaculture technology and marine equipment.

You’ll collaborate with mechanical, electrical, electronic and software engineers to create robust solutions for challenging marine environments. A strong design background and travel to project sites are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Proficiency with CAD software and FEA.
• Knowledge of marine engineering environments is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and enhancements to existing lines.
• Produce engineering drawings, calculations and documentation.
• Support prototype development, testing and product validation.
• Participate in design reviews and product evaluation processes.
• Prepare bills of materials and engineering records.
• Visit customer sites and liaise with suppliers as needed.
