Job summary

MacTaggart Scott in Loanhead, Scotland, is seeking a Design Engineer to create equipment designs, specify components with supporting calculations, and produce detailed 3D models and drawings for marine-based handling systems.

You will perform hand calculations and FEA validation, contribute to design reports and documentation, and collaborate on bids and manufacturing issues with occasional UK and international travel.

Qualifications

• Experience creating detailed production drawings for components and assemblies (≤140 chars).
• Experience of stress analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis (≤140 chars).
• Experience of solid modeling using CAD tools (≤140 chars).
• Input to design documentation, reports and interface control documents (≤140 chars).

Responsibilities

• Create detailed component and assembly models and drawings.
• Perform design verification via hand calcs and FEA.
• Input to engineering documentation such as design reports and ICDs.
• Support bids, enquiries and in-workshop problem-solving.
