ROLE: Mechanical Design Engineer

TERM: Permanent

LOCATION: Walsall

SALARY: GBP 30,000 - GBP 45,000 (Dependant on experience)

My client delivers bespoke machinery for a variety of sectors. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Walsall on a permanent basis.

Attributes of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

1. HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
2. Previous experience working within the Machinery or Pharmaceutical sectors
3. Proficient in 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.
4. Experience within Special Purpose Machinery environments
5. Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Proficient in MS Office
8. Excellent organizational and time management skills
9. Ability to work well independently and within a small multidisciplinary team

The Mechanical Design Engineer Role Will Involve:

1. Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
2. Liaising with manufacturing providers
3. Participating in final assembly of products
4. Creating documentation for design, project reports, and plans
5. Updating 3D models and drawings
6. Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
7. Checking drawings for sign-off
8. Collaborating within a small multidisciplinary team on various projects
